Case Studies
We’ve supported a wide range of claims across domestic, commercial, and construction sectors. Each case presents its own challenges, and our role is to help navigate the process and work towards fair, practical outcomes.
Below are examples of claims we’ve assisted with, outlining the approach taken and the outcomes achieved.
Fire Damage to a building products warehouse | quantum in excess of $3m
This claim related to a fire occurring during extension works which destroyed the Contract Works as well as a substantial portion of the in-use warehouse. We managed both the Contract Works and the ISR portions of the claim working to ensure that there was seamless coverage between the two policies
Claim for flooding to a major residential build | quantum in excess of $200,000
This claim related to a fire occurring during extension works which destroyed the Contract Works as well as a substantial portion of the in-use warehouse. We managed both the Contract Works and the ISR portions of the claim working to ensure that there was seamless coverage between the two policies

Malicious damage to a substantially completed childcare centre | quantum $450,000
The claim involved a break-in and substantial damage to a mostly completed childcare centre. Our submissions focused on recovering the significant delay costs caused by the loss.
Claim for flooding to a construction site | quantum in excess of $1m
The claim involved repeated flooding to a excavated construction site resulting in the collapse of the excavation face. A core part of our advocacy was providing submissions on the application of a 72 hour storm clause and quantifying substantial price increases triggering an inflation protection clause of the Policy
Written-off vehicle due to hail | quantum $80,000
This claim involved a BMW, less than 12 months old, being severely damaged during a hailstorm. Resulting in the vehicle being considered a complete write-off. The Policy had a new-for-old provision where the car would be replaced with a brand-new vehicle, or if an equivalent could not be found, the amount that a brand-new vehicle would cost.
After being offered a significantly reduced sum to replace the vehicle by the Insurers, we were engaged and through our advocacy, increased the settlement figure by over $10,000.
Home Flooding Claim | quantum $60,000
A client suffered significant water ingress into their property during a storm. The Insurers denied the claim based on alleged defects in the construction and maintenance of the home. We provided an expert report to the client and assisted them in drafting their submissions for the resulting AFCA (Australian Financial Complaints Authority) dispute.
Based on our submission and report the client was able to overturn the denial and had the claim paid in full.
Burst Shower Pipe | quantum $46,000
This claim involved the failure of a shower breech piece which resulted in a substantial amount of water flowing under the bathroom and into adjacent bedrooms. After pursuing the claim themselves against the Insurer for over a year with the Insurers only offering a settlement of $1,000 the Client engaged us to escalate the matter to AFCA.
After guiding the claim through the AFCA process and based on our advocacy we were able to obtain a full settlement of the matter increasing the settlement amount by over $45,000.
